  • It all began...

  • 1967
    Founding of the “Cooperativa Modenese Essiccazione Frutta”. Chairman: dr. Alberto Mario Levi. 16 founding partners, all from the Modena province.
  • 1971
    Beginning of fruit processing activity and of commercialization. Managing director: dr. Enrico Famigli.
  • 1972
    First sales of prunes packaged for large-scale retail.
  • 1982
    Monte Ré joins the association of the new companies of Central Italy.
  • 1985
    Dr. Alberto Mario Levi Junior is elected as Chairman of the Cooperativa Modenese Essiccazione Frutta.
  • 1992
    Registration of the Monterey trademark for the products commercialized by the company.
  • 1998
    Passage from the Monterey brand to the new Monte Ré trademark, the first to offer to the market prunes produced in Italy.
  • 1998
    Launch of the first “Monte Ré - Italian Cultivations” brand packaging.
  • 1999
    First contract as a private label with an Italian large-scale retailer.
  • 1999
    Certification of compliance with the processing of organic products.
  • 1999
    First contract of private label width Italian GDO.
  • 2000
    Recognition of status as O.P. (Organisation of Producers).
  • 2003
    UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 certification obtained later updated to the UNI EN ISO 9001:15 standards.
  • 2005
    UNI 10939:01 “controlled agricultural supply chain” certification for Prugne secche di Modena obtained, later updated to UNI EN ISO 22005:08 standards.
  • 2006
    Beginning of production of Modena Sour Cherry jam.
  • 2007
    Restyling of packaging.
  • 2009
    The Modena Sour Cherry Jam is declared I.G.P. (Protected Geographical Indication).
  • 2012
    Company store opening
  • 2015
    Restyling of packaging.
  • 2016
    Reconversion of the range into products free from preservatives.
  • 2017
    Building extension of the jams production department.
  • 2018
    New product line Small Italian Prunes.
  • 2019
    New organic product line.
